Mimi Jordan Sherin

American lighting designer Mimi Jordan Sherin has designed widely for opera and theatre. Among others, her work in opera include Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, directed by Richard Jones, L’Heure espagnole/Gianni Schicchi, The Gambler, Anna Nicole (co-credit with D.M. Wood), Gloriana and Boris Godunov, all for the Royal Opera House and Oreste in Wilton’s Music Hall (all of them directed by Richard Jones); Lohengrin and Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Bavarian State Opera), The Makropulos Case (Frankfurt), Billy Budd (Netherlands Opera), Peter Grimes (La Scala, Milan), Falstaff and Der Rosenkavalier (Glyndebourne), Rusalka (Copenhagen), Rodelinda (English National Opera) and Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg (Welsh National Opera). Her other opera lighting includes Der Ring des Nibelungen (Nationale Reisopera), Otello (Bavarian State Opera), Don Giovanni (ENO) and Jenůfa (Vienna State Opera).
In the 2017/18 Season she returns to work on La bohème, directed by Richard Jones. 
Jordan Sherin has worked extensively in theatre, her credits including Public Enemy and The Government Inspector (Young Vic), Jerusalem (Royal Court, West End and on Broadway), and many productions for the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Awards include the American Theatre Wing Award, two Obies, an Eddy Award, a Tony nomination and five Drama Desk nominations.
