Tatiana Kuryatnikova
She completed her studies in solo singing by Prof. KS Filipova at the Music and Arts Private University of Vienna (MUK), after obtaining her Bachelor of Arts from the Gnessin Music Academy. During her studies, she achieved success in various competitions in Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia, and France. Tatiana participated in masterclasses with renowned artists such as Vesselina Kasarova, Elena Obraztsova, Anna Samuil, Boris Statsenko, Cynthia Makris, Sherman Lowe, and acting classes with Sébastien Dutrieux.
From 2018 to 2020, the mezzo-soprano was a part of the Young Ensemble at the Theater an der Wien, where she portrayed roles such as the 3rd Wood Nymph in Dvořák’s Rusalka, Page in Strauss’ Salome, Eboli in Verdi’s Don Carlos, Enfant in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges, Nicklausse in Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann, Old Lady and Baroness in Bernstein’s Candide, Carmen, Leocasta in Handel’s Giustino, Cherubino and Eurydice in the children’s productions Figaro and the Detectives and Wir befreien Eurydike.
Following her time with the Young Ensemble, guest engagements led Tatiana to the Landestheater Coburg (Enfant – L’enfant et les sortilèges), the Schauspielhaus Graz (Zerlina – Don Giovanni), the Kammeroper Salzburg (Alto-Solo – Europeras 3&4), and the Theater Heidelberg (Rosina – Il barbiere di Siviglia). She also had the opportunity to perform the role of the 2nd Sprite in Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Opéra National de Lyon and La Maison de la Culture in Grenoble under the baton of Maestro Daniele Rustioni.
The mezzo-soprano captivates audiences not only with her wide opera repertoire but also with her interpretations of masses and oratorios.
In winter 2023/24 Tatiana sang the Alto-Solo in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony at the Wiener Konzerthaus and the Alto-Solo in Handel’s Messiah in Graz. Under the baton of Marin Alsop, Tatiana was recently seen in Bernstein’s Candide at the Theater an der Wien, where she portrayed the role of Paquette. Later in Sommer she sang Queen, Angel and Alto-Solo in Mendelssohn’s Elias in Graz.
In upcoming season 2025/26 Tatiana will be a part of 2 world premieres in Theater an der Wien. Ich bin Vincent! Und ich habe keine Angst from Gordon Kampe, where she will portray a role of Käfer. And Holle! from Sebastian Schwab, where she will sing a title role Frau Holle. In April and May 2026 the production will be on tour and later in sommer Holle! will be a part of Salzburger Festspiele.
